Following the backlash, Oriental Kopi founder Dato’ Calvin Chan apologised for the oversight and revealed that the brand was working on a new menu design that includes Bahasa Melayu.
In a Threads update, Calvin announced that the new menu is now available in Bahasa Melayu, Chinese and English. The menu was printed just in time for the opening of Oriental Kopi’s first outlet in Kedah yesterday (28 October).
“Hi guys! Our new menu is finally ready! I’m truly touched to see that this time, our menu is available in 3 languages (Malay, Chinese and English), making it easier and more comfortable for customers from different races and backgrounds to place their orders,” he wrote.

Besides the new Bahasa Melayu menu, Calvin also shared that a Tamil version is in the works.
“For our other outlets, please give us a little more time, guys. We’re working tirelessly day and night to get the new design printed. But that’s not all! We’re also working on the Tamil version and can’t wait to release it as soon as possible.
“From the bottom of my heart, I’m truly grateful for everyone’s support and patience,” he added.
