This journey leads her to FORGOTEN ISLAND , the latest animated film from Dreamworks studio.
In the film, Liza Soberano voices Raissa, a girl who has been close friends with Jo (HER) since elementary school. As they graduate from high school and prepare to go their separate ways, they decide to spend one last night together. However, a mysterious portal unexpectedly transports Jo and Raissa to the mythical island of Nakali, home to strange creatures that seem to exist only in the stories of their grandparents. To find their way back, they must face a cruel price: exchanging all their memories of each other. From then on, they are forced to race against time before the memories of their long-standing friendship completely disappear.
FORGOTTEN ISLAND is written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel P. Mercado – the duo who received Oscar and BAFTA nominations for “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” . This is also their first original screenplay project, built upon Philippine culture and mythology, and directly inspired by kapwa – a concept in Philippine culture that emphasizes the connection between individuals and those around them.
