The new generation Toyota Fortuner has not yet been officially introduced to the Indian market. However, in recent days, social media has been circulating a video showing a completely redesigned Fortuner, appearing publicly as if it has already been released for sale. This quickly sparked speculation that Toyota has "quietly" delivered the new Fortuner to customers.

The truth was revealed in a video posted on Instagram by PRV Automobiles Jalandhar. According to the presenter, this shocking Fortuner is actually not a new generation model, but an older Fortuner that has been "transformed" with an imported body kit that almost perfectly mimics the upcoming version.
At the front, the Fortuner has been completely redesigned with a new hood, grille, front bumper, and fenders. The most notable highlight is the newly designed LED headlight cluster, using a single projector bulb combined with a modern C-shaped LED daytime running light strip. The front bumper integrates LED fog lights and a silver underbody protection plate, embodying the style of a premium off-road SUV.
Notably, this isn't a custom-made accessory kit, but rather a near-identical copy of the new generation Fortuner's design. Previously, Toyota launched the new generation Hilux internationally with a similar appearance, and the Fortuner is expected to share this design language. Therefore, accessory manufacturers quickly released conversion kits for older Hilux and Fortuner models.
Although it's only an exterior upgrade, this vehicle partially reveals the changes on the next-generation Fortuner. According to test images, the official version will have a new rear end, redesigned LED taillights, and a more modern, refined rear bumper.
The interior is also expected to undergo a complete transformation with a 12.3-inch central display screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a new steering wheel, and a host of premium amenities such as ventilated power-adjustable seats, a panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
In terms of engine, the new generation Fortuner will most likely continue to use the 2.8L diesel engine with 201 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, coupled with mild hybrid technology. The expected launch date is late 2026 or early 2027.
