Ben Stiller announces Knicks documentary — here's what we know

Ben Stiller is bringing his acclaimed directorial touch to his beloved New York Knicks, though he’ll be dealing with much less sinister subject matter than “Severance.”

Stiller has been a courtside fixture at Madison Square Garden for decades. So it wasn’t the least bit surprising to see him courtside throughout the Knicks’ historic playoff run — at MSG and in Philadelphia, Cleveland, or San Antonio — en route to topping the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Finals and winning the franchise’s first NBA title since 1973.

But Stiller wasn’t just there to satisfy his lifelong fandom.

He was also putting in work on an upcoming Knicks documentary of a lifetime.

Stiller appropriately broke the news exclusively on Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s “Roommates Show” on Wednesday.

“I’m really excited to officially announce that we are officially making a documentary about the New York Knicks for HBO and doing it with A24,” Stiller said. “Full cooperation of MSG and NBA and, obviously, I’ve been shooting some stuff on my phone, but it’s kind of gonna be about all eras of the Knicks. This team, obviously, there’s a culmination of something here that’s been going on for a long time.”

Stiller added, “We’ve had all this access to your team, which is great, and we’re gonna probably shoot a little bit more during next season, and I’m gonna hit you guys up for some interviews.”

Brunson asked for a specific timeline, to which Stiller detailed that he and his team will be working on it over the next year, and it will be a multi-part documentary series.

Stiller later announced the news on X.
